The Geosphere
The geosphere is the rocky layout of Earth. The first layer is called the crust, and is 5-10 kilometers below the oceans, and 20-70 kilometers below the continents. The second layer is the mantle, and is about 2900 kilometers thick. The third layer is the outer core, and is about 2,250 kilometers thick. The fourth and final layer is the inner core, and is about 1,280 kilometers thick.
