The Atmosphere
The atmosphere is a combination of many gasses that cover the Earth. The atmosphere is is made of 5 different layers, and extends about 600 kilometers into space. The atmosphere is 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1% other gasses such as carbon dioxide, and hellium.
How Does It Protect Us?
The layer in the atmosphere called the mesosphere protects us by burning meteors before they can reach Earth. The ozone, which is located in the stratosphere, protects us from harmful radiation given off by the sun.
How Does It Insulate The Planet?
The atmosphere insulates the planet with the greenhouse effect, which is made of gasses such as carbon dioxide, which lets heat in but wont let heat out.
What Are The Layers Of The Atmosphere?
